GuideFredrik Norrsell

Fredrik was born and raised in Sweden, and began leading outdoor trips at 17 years old. Coming to the USA as a graduate student, he eventually gave up a career in chemistry to enjoy life in the outdoors. For the past 20+ years Fredrik has worked as and outdoor educator for NOLS, and guided all over the world. As a professional photographer  Fredrik has captured inspirational images from the glaciers of Alaska to the temperate rainforest of Patagonia. His work can be seen at www.norrsell.com. His experience as a teacher was summarized by a former NOLS student as.“You were by far the best teacher I have ever had, including a lifetime in private school, and four years at Harvard”. When not out tromping in the wilds of Alaska, Fredrik can be found carefully tending his tomatoes with his wife Nancy, near Palmer Alaska.
