Jenna grew up in a family that built kayaks in the living room outside of Detroit, Michigan. She fell in love with Alaska in 2009 and has been hard at work exploring it ever since. She has a degree in history, specializing in Alaska history and a background in conservation and outdoor education. She loves working with her hands and natural materials to make everything from bowls to fish traps. In the spring and fall she and her partner David spend most of their time hunting, fishing, and gathering Alaska’s bounty based out of their sod hut home on the Tanana River. In the winter, they own and operate a dogsled adventure company called Boreal Journeys Alaska. She feels lucky to spend her summers sharing Alaska’s wild places and delicious foods with Arctic Wild guests.
“My favorite river trip is the Caribou Canoe Trip because its hard to beat caribou calves running circles around your tent.” ~Jenna
