GuideEma Mayo

Growing up in Alaska and exploring its forests, rivers and mountains since she was a young child has helped Ema develop a passion for the outdoors. After earning a Biology degree from the University of Alaska, her love for Alaska’s wilderness brought her to Wrangell St. Elias National Park where she started her guiding career. When she’s not guiding Ema spends her time working with children, farming, skiing, boating, and working on a variety of scientific research projects. Through working with Arctic Wild, Ema has found that one of her favorite aspects about being a guide is seeing people make a positive connection to their environment, to themselves and to others around them. Connecting people with the outdoors is one way for her to help protect the pristine environment of Alaska that she loves so much.
