Kyle was raised by the turquoise waters of the Kenai River, nestled in a mountain valley near the small town of Cooper Landing, Alaska. He started working for the family guiding business at age 8, and began rowing trips by age 12. He has sought out new experiences through the avenue of rivers in many corners of the world. After failing to find somewhere he loves more than Alaska, Kyle has hung his hat in the town of Chugiak, and has dedicated the last few years of his life to exploring as many corners of the state as possible. He spends his free time skiing, mountaineering, whitewater kayaking, paragliding, and peeling logs.
